It’s been a few years since Netflix announced the return of Ghost in the Shell with a brand new product made differently than usual. The first episodes of Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 weren’t particularly exciting, but they had enough followers to make the major streaming portal propose an extension.
And so, during the Netflix Festival Japan 2021 last November, the entertainment giant announced the start of work on Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Season 2 via streaming. Now Netflix is ββalso ready to reveal more news about the title in production.
Netflix released it Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Season 2 Trailer, a video of over a minute that marks the return of Motoko Kusanagi. In addition to the protagonist and the other main characters, the cast of the first season and the staff of Production IG will of course also return Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Season 2 is scheduled to debut on Netflix in May 2022 at the same time worldwide.
The anime’s theme songs will be produced by Millennium Parade, including the song “Secret Ceremony” heard in the trailer, which will be the opening song. The ending will be “No Time to Cast Anchor” instead, again by Millennium Parade’s Daiki Tsuneta. In addition, Netflix released the Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Season 2 Poster with in the foreground the characters with character design by Ilya Kuvshinov.
