The overwhelming success of manga fairy tale pushed ahead with production of an anime less than two years after its debut in Shonen Magazine. On Weekly Shōnen Magazine #31 of 2009 An animated adaptation of Hiro Mashima’s fantasy manga by animation studios A-1 Pictures and Satelight, directed by Shinji Ishihira, is announced and begins airing from October 2009 to March 2013and reached a total of 175 episodes spread over six seasons. In July 2013, Mashima himself announced the resumption of animation via Twitter, a social network where he’s still incredibly active.

A-1 Pictures Studio and Ishihira return to work on the anime, this time supported by Bridge Studio. adaptation returns to April 2014 and will end in March 2016 after 102 episodes, including the seventh and eighth seasons. in which the events narrated in the prequel Fairy Tail Zero were also adapted, precisely from episodes 266 to 275. To cover the third block, composed of 51 episodes of the ninth season, which aired from October 2018 to September 2019 was the trio of A-1 Pictures, Bridge and CloverWorks Studios.
