After the thirteenth episode of the anime adaptation of Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki (How a realistic hero rebuilt the kingdom) the production of a second season was announced. This sequel with the title “Part 2“In Japan, the premiere is scheduled for January 2022 in Japan, and the press release included a promotional video and performers for the new songs, including:
- Inori minase will play the new opening song entitled “REAL-EYES” while target plays the new end song entitled “LIGHTS”.
The first season premiered on July 3 in Japan and had a total of thirteen episodes while the platform Funimation takes care of sales in the west. For his part, Dojyomaru and Fuyuyuki began publishing the novels through the publisher’s label Overlap bunko from the publisher overlap in May 2016. The work also inspired a manga adaptation by Satoshi Ueda to be published on the website Comic Gardo from the publisher overlap since July 2017.

- Takashi Watanabe (Bishoujo Yuugekitai Battle Skipper, Boogiepop wa Warawanai, Hidan no Aria) is responsible for directing the anime in the studios JCSTAFF.
- Gou-Zappa (Ahiru no Sora, Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai) and Hiroshi oonogi (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Seisen Cerberus: Ryuukoku no Fatalités) are responsible for writing and maintaining the scripts.
- May ootsuka (Hanamaru Youchien, Houkago no Pleiades, Kono Yo no Hate de Koi wo Utau Shoujo YU-NO) is responsible for character design.
- Akiyuki Tateyama (Gakuen Basara, Iceland, Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai) is responsible for the composition of the soundtrack, under the direction of Sound by Jin Aketagawa.

Summary of Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki
After his grandfather’s death, Kazuya Souma, 19, a budding civil servant, remains alone and has no one to name his family. As if out of nowhere he is transported to the Kingdom of Elfrieden, a sick little country in another world, to be a “hero”. An ongoing war with the demon army has put the whole world in danger and Kazuya has been called as an offering from Elfrieden to her allies to help in the conflict. Unhappy to be used as a tribute, Kazuya decides to help the kingdom revive its ailing economy, not through adventure or war, but through administrative reforms. Suddenly declared King of Elfrieden and promised to the princess, the “royal hero” Kazuya sets out to assemble a group of talented citizens who will help him in his bureaucratic struggles to get the kingdom running again.
