In the early 2000s, there was a shojo manga that was able to capture a large section of the public, that is Fruit basket. Written and drawn by Natsuki Takaya, the work received two animated adaptations, the first in 2001 and the second between 2019 and 2021, which managed to bring the whole story to the screen.
A recapitulation film of the series entitled Fruit basket: Prelude will debut in Japan on February 18, 2022. We already looked at the characters from Fruits Basket: Prelude, but unfortunately we haven’t had a chance to see the animations from TMS Entertainment. Or at least until today.
Indeed, through the official website of Fruits Basket: Prelude was released the film trailer and a new key visual. While the short video on YouTube focuses on the protagonists of the opera Tohru and Yuki, the key visual shows Tohru accompanied by his parents on a beach. The relationship between the girl, the father and the mother is one unedited part inserted in the film, never shown in the series.
I study TMS entertainment also produced Fruits Basket 2019. The staff who will be working on the film will therefore be the same as those of the series due to the excellent results: Think that Fruits Basket has overtaken Fullmetal Alchemist on MyAnimeList as Highest rated anime. A production that promises to be of the highest order, but we’ll have to wait until February 18th to be sure.
