On the official website for the new anime adaptation of the manga by Riku Sanjou and illustrated by Koji Inada, Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken (Dragon Quest: Adventure of Dai), a new promo image has been released for the series. With this release, the series is commemorating its first year of broadcast and officially entering its second year.
On the other hand it became known that the singer Taichi-Mukai will interpret the reopening of the anime with his single “bravest”. The new opening sequence will be shown from October 2nd.
The series has aired in Japan since October 2020. The platform Crispy roll is responsible for sales in the west. For their part, Sanjou and Inada began publishing the manga in the magazine Weekly shonen jump from the publisher Shueisha 1989 and ended 1996 with a total of 37 volumes. The play previously inspired a 46-episode anime adaptation that aired between 1991 and 1992, as well as two animated films that were released in July 1991, March 1992, and July 1992.
Production team
- Kazuya Karasawa (Dragonball great, Dragon Ball Super: Broly) is responsible for directing the anime in the studios Toei animation.
- Katsuhiko chiba (Mahou Senshi Louie, Small steps, Tiger mask double) is responsible for writing and maintaining the scripts.
- Emiko miyamoto (Mahou Tsukai preparation!) is responsible for character design.
- Yuki hayashi is responsible for composing the soundtrack.
Dragon Quest Synopsis: Dai no Daibouken
Long ago there was a brave swordsman who came to be known simply as “the hero”. There was also a demon who had caused human suffering. The hero and his companions came to challenge the demon to fight, and by combining their powers the fight was quickly over. With no one around to cause trouble, the island became a peaceful place where everyone could live together in peace.
A few years later the demon wakes up again. Our current protagonist Dai lives on a remote island in the South Pacific and dreams of becoming a great hero. When he learns of the demon’s rebirth, it is up to Dai and his friends to stop him and the evil force that resurrected him. Along the way, Dai discovers the identity of the “hero”, the truth behind the evil force that resurrected the demon, and Dai’s own hidden powers that emerge in times of danger.
