Dragon Ball great will finally return, oddly resuming a few years after the events of Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Although the manga continued the series’ story beyond the point where the movie ended, one of the biggest anticipations for this upcoming movie is the fact that it will feature the return of Broly.

Confirming his official return to the franchise in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, the role Broly will play in the new film remains very mysterious. To make things even weirder, the fact is that even Goku and Vegeta will not play the role of the protagonists as usual, and the latest Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero trailer gives a sneak peek at the roles of all three of these Saiyans in the new film. As the brief moments of Broly, Goku, Vegeta and even Beerus and Whis suggest, it looks like Broly is following a new training.

It was announced at the end of Dragon Ball Super: Broly Goku would fight with Broly again in the future, but that wasn’t seen in the last few chapters of the manga. The series has gone through two story arcs since this film, and Broly’s presence in it hasn’t even been considered.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero looks like it Goku and Vegeta will surely fight with Broly again on Beerus’ planetwhere they can develop all their powers. That’s also why they’re probably too busy to help deal with the new threats to Earth.

Now it’s just a matter of finding out if this is full-fledged training for a Broly power-up (and probably is bring him closer to the divine dimension like Goku and Vegeta), or if it’s just another fight that Goku and Vegeta just wanted to face. The first option is much more exciting because it teases Broly’s continued involvement in the future of the series.

But what do you think of it? What are your hopes for Broly’s return in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero? Feel free to let us know all your thoughts on this in the comments below. We remind you that you can read the latest chapters of Dragon Ball Super on MANGA Plus.
