In the current saga, it took the effort of all Dragon Ball Super protagonists to defeat Gas. But the situation wouldn't have been opened up if Goku hadn't invented a new Ultra Instinct. In the beginning was the Ultra Instinct with black hair but a different aura than usual, then came the full form that everyone knows as the actual Ultra Instinct. The first is called "Ultra Instinct Omen" while the second is called "Ultra Instinct Omen". Mastered the Ultra Instinct. The third version recently added by Toyotaro in Dragon Ball Super is instead called "Ultra true instinct' and therefore appears to be an alternate version that the Saiyan can use at will in certain situations.
The difference between the new and the old is yet to be revealed, but more will surely be revealed in due course.
