On the official site for the anime adaptation of the light novels Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari (The Rise of the Shield Hero) revealed a variety of artworks that various distributors in Japan say will be given out as purchase benefits of the project’s second season Blu-ray/DVD bundles.
In other news, the company azumaker announced a collaboration with this franchise in launching a variety of branded products CharaON!which will be available during the next edition of the event Comic Market (Comiket)which will take place in Japan next August.
The second season of Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari aired during the season of Spring 2022 (April-June) in Japan and had a total of thirteen episodes while the platform crispy roll takes care of sales in the West. Actually it should have premiered in the season Autumn-2021 (October-December)but was delayed until the season Spring 2022 (April-June) for various reasons”. As a reminder, production of a third season has been confirmed.
Summary of Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari
The Four Heroes are a group of ordinary men from modern Japan summoned to the realm of Melromarc to become his saviors. Melromarc is a land ravaged by the waves of cataclysm that repeatedly ravaged the land and brought calamity upon its citizens for centuries. The four heroes are each given a sword, spear, bow and shield to defeat these waves. Naofumi Iwatani, an otaku, suffers from the curse of being the “Hero of the Shield”. Armed with only a measly shield, Naofumi is despised and ridiculed by his fellow heroes and the people of the kingdom for his weak offensive skills and lackluster personality.
When the heroes have resources and comrades to train with, Naofumi sets out with Malty Melromarc, the only person willing to train by his side. However, he is soon betrayed by her and falsely accused of taking advantage of her. Naofumi is then severely discriminated against and hated by the people of Melromarc for something he didn’t do. With a raging storm of sadness and distrust in his heart, Naofumi begins his journey to strengthen himself and his reputation. Later, however, the difficulty of being alone sets in, so Naofumi buys a dying half-human slave named Raphtalia to accompany him on his travels. As the waves close in on the kingdom, Naofumi and Raphtalia must fight for the kingdom’s survival and protect the people of Melromarc from their bleak future.
