With the new adventure from Dragonball Super, Akira Toriyama and Toyotaro wanted to use the new space to further develop the characterization of Goku and Vegeta, the two protagonists who were confronted with unprecedented situations in the last narrative arcs.
In the new chapter of DBS, the writers actually brought back the character of Bardak to tell the past of Granolah, who survived thanks to the Saiyan who, for whatever reason, saved him from a cruel death. With the Molo saga, however, that is Differences between Goku and Vegeta, two characters struggling to be the opposite of each other.
Even through the new narrative arc and consequently through the character of the father, Goku continues to grapple with his race, with what they have done in the past, and with his identity as such. The Saiyan prince, on the other hand, does not fight against himself to embrace a species he is proud of, but against all the new emotions he has begun to feel since his arrival on earth. Vegeta actually has a family with Bulma. built up, he began to want to protect his loved ones, but at the same time he objectively understood the mistakes of the past and began to try to get rid of his mistakes.
