Dragon Ball Super 85 recently debuted on MangaPlus and continues the fight for Goku and Vegeta against Gas of the Heeters, the strongest warrior in the universe. He’s already KO’d Granolah and after a trip into the universe kindly offered by Goku, he’s found the two Saiyans to end the fight.
The first to hit the gas is Vegeta, whose ultra-ego seems to know no bounds in Dragon Ball Super 85: every time the Heeter deals him a fatal blow, the Saiyan stands up stronger than before. The fight seems to be going well, with Vegeta’s new transformation being empowered without limits, but at one point Gas manages to deliver a punch to the KO.
In the meantime, Goku sat down to meditate in the distance, which allows him to unlock a new transformation that we still know very little about. As he explains, it can’t be Ultra Instinct because his heart isn’t calm at the sight of gas, but it could be a mix of a Saiyan form (Heeter sees Baddack in Goku) coupled with a divine transformation.
Goku then hits gas and at one point he uses a very strange technique: He fires a beam of energy from his mouth at the enemy. This technique was seen in the early days of Dragon Ball Z in the fight between Nappa and the land warriors. That Goku rediscovered an ancient Saiyan technique?
Other characters also shot energy beams from their mouths throughout Dragon Ball: Baby, kid boo, the Saibaman… So the one used by Goku might be a much more common technique than you think. The Saiyan appears to have cornered Gas, even as time is running out for Goku’s new transformation, which cannot be sustained indefinitely.
Many think we’ll see defeat of gas in Dragon Ball Super 86. Will Goku defeat the strongest warrior in the universe? Or will Granolah return, who has since been healed by Monaito?
