There are many quotes in Dragon Ball Super. Toyotaro is a big lover of Akira Toriyama’s original series, and for that reason, the new manga also has very clear references to the most famous and beloved scenes from Dragon Ball. Even the latest chapter released on MangaPlus is no exception.
The latest saga of the Cerelean survivor, now coming to an end, has put Baddack back in the spotlight. Goku’s father was the protagonist of a pivotal flashback in the Dragon Ball Super story and following this revelation many parallels were drawn between Goku and his father. It’s not just about character elements or physical resemblance, but also attacks and poses, as seen in a particular cartoon Chapter 80 of Dragon Ball Super.
In the past, Baddack stopped transforming gas with an energy attack that’s practically there mirrored version of the energy wave that Goku thought he used to kill Freeza on Namek. The Super Saiyan’s wave was launched with the left hand and from a symmetrical perspective compared to Bardock’s. Below are the two images from the last chapter and from the Dragon Ball Z anime.
Another quote from Toyotaro, one of the many that also emerged during this saga.
