Black Panther is close to reaching the 200 totals milestone, and Marvel Comics certainly doesn’t plan to miss a celebration: Black Panther #3 (equivalent to Black Panther #200 in legacy numbering) will therefore be an oversized special that will see the debut of a new hero from Wakanda.
As MCU fans ask for T’Challa’s reimagining, the cartoonish Black Panther continues to embark on new adventures. With Black Panther #3, Marvel plans to celebrate T’Challa’s past, but without missing the opportunity to leave clues about the future of Wakanda.
Black Panther #3 it is written by John Ridley and illustrated by Juann Cabal. Among the stories included in the special, there will also be space for the debut of a new hero, Tosin Oduye, described as a key figure in Ridley’s run.
Tosin is a young Wakanda from a tribe that rejected the technology that made Black Panther country great. Despite his skepticism about the elders who rule Wakanda, Tosin agrees to become the nation’s new hero when the final breaking point between the king and his country will be reached.
Tosin Oduye’s character design was entrusted to German Peralta, and Marvel Comics has published a study of the character that we share at the end of the article, along with the cover of Alex Ross’ special. The release of Black Panther #3 (or Black Panther #200) is scheduled for January 26, 2022. Meanwhile, the Black Panther 2 movie is suffering from further delays due to Covid.
