Heads up, anime buffs! The epic saga of Dr. STONE ain't over yet – it's gearing up for a grand finale with Season 4, dubbed "Dr. STONE SCIENCE FUTURE." Yep, you heard it right – it's the last hurrah for this anime franchise.

Chatter from the top dogs, director Shuuhei Matsushita and producer Shuusuke Katagiri, has got fans buzzing:

  • Director: "SCIENCE FUTURE ain't your regular sci-fi! It's Senku and the gang, smashing through fiction with hardcore science. The fourth season's theme, 'The Future of Science,' sets the stage for unraveling humanity's stony mystery. We're going all out to amp up the excitement, so stay tuned and keep rooting for us. We're painting a hopeful 'future' for Senku and friends. Watch this space for updates."
  • Productor: "Since 'Dr. STONE' kicked off in 2019, it's been a wild ride, and next year we hit the five-year mark. Been in this gig since the manga's debut, and it's been a blast. We've hit our targets, made a bunch of mates, and together, we're nailing the animation. Hopped on the animation train in Season 3 and I'm here to stay. There's no greater buzz than this. We've still got a trek ahead, but like Senku and the crew, we're pushing the envelope to serve up a series that's better than ever after some serious trial and error."

Back in March 2017, Inagaki and Boichi unleashed the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump by Shueisha, wrapping it up in March 2022. The first anime adaptation, a 24-episode run by TMS Entertainment, directed by Shinya Iino with scripts from Yuichiro Kido, hit screens in July 2019. It was followed by a second season in Winter-2021 and a third in Autumn-2023.

Lowdown on Dr. STONE

High schooler Taiju Ooki's been bottling up his crush on Yuzuriha Ogawa for five long years. As he's about to spill his guts, bam! A blinding green light strikes, turning humanity to stone. Fast forward a few millennia, Taiju wakes to a world overrun by nature, with humanity on pause.

In this statue-strewn wilderness, he bumps into his science-loving buddy Senkuu, who's been up and about for a few months. Taiju learns about Senkuu's master plan to reboot civilization with science. Taiju's brawn and Senkuu's brains make a dynamite duo, and they soon crack a way to de-petrify folks. But as they tackle Senkuu's grand blueprint, they face opposition from those who wake up. And the big question – why did humanity turn to stone – hangs in the air.
