What began as a small project promoting the Japanese video game of the same name now carries the animated legacy of the franchise on its shoulders. Super Dragon Ball Heroes, a continuous crescendo over the course of his three years of life that has led the non-canonical work to even compete with the super series.
Nobody expected such a success, but Super Dragon Ball Heroes has, saga after saga, conquered the entire community. The space-time war story arc got to the heart of the non-canon anime a new level, both from the animation point of view and from the narrative point of view. The series can only improve from now on, under threat of a hard-won loss of credibility.
Since the Dragon Ball Super Anime has been idle for several years, Super Dragon Ball Heroes is with Center of the fan base. Let’s face it, compared to the canonical original series, the promotional anime has one huge advantage, namely being able to draw characters and transformations from any Dragon Ball work. Super Dragon Ball Heroes practically fulfilled the dream of all of us of colliding Super Saiyan 4 with Super Saiyan Blue, Gogeta versus Vegetto, or seeing Broly in Super Saiyan 4 form.
From this point of view is therefore there is no correspondence between the two series. The only limit in Super Dragon Ball Heroes is the imagination. Initially, however, it was limited to a sequence of epic battles with almost no logic, but the anime has taken a drastic turn with the Big Bang Mission. Now the narrative is no longer an end in itself, but the plot has a clearly defined outline and a linear and logical background.
All that glitters is not yet gold. Heroes it still has some major loopholeslike the duration of the episodes, only about 10 minutes, even less without opening and ending. The Space-Time War Arc is on the right track, however, and the next few episodes will most likely further improve the quality level.
