It was in 2018 when producer Adi Shankar announced the Netflix adaptation of Devil May Cry, one of CAPCOM’s largest video game franchises, and now we’re getting news from the production.
The streaming service has had success lately with video game adaptations like Castlevania and the Witcher and now it seems so Devil May Cry is ready to tell a story that It will take several seasons to tell.
Earlier this year, producer Adi Shankar took the opportunity to say that production of the upcoming series would start early next year and that the scripts for the first season of Devil May Cry are already ready. Shankar, talking to IGN, revealed that not only will the series take several seasons to tell its story, but the first season will also consist of eight episodes.
Shankar himself went into detail in the interview about what it was like to work directly with Capcom, the license holders for Devil May Cry who recently released the fifth installment in what is considered by many to be the best game in the series to date: “The entire team, both from the leadership and the creative side, was incredibly helpful and kind“.
