With the start of Demon Slayer Season 3, new characters have appeared. One of them is a legendary character who was practically the birthplace of demon hunters, a character that readers of the manga are already familiar with. Let’s go to discover the whole Story by Yoriichi Tsugikunithe strongest demon hunter of all time.

Yoriichi was born into the Tsugikuni clan with a twin brother, Michikatsu. However, the two were very different and even as children, 500 years before the events narrated in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, some differences were felt. At birth, the mark on his forehead sanctioned that Yoriichi was the bearer of misfortune and it was only thanks to the prayers of his mother Akemi that he was saved, even though he was locked in a small room and then destined for a monastery. While Michikatsu was properly trained and brought up, Yoriichi was almost imprisoned, but he was endowed with exceptional physical strength and could see the “transparent world” or the true nature of enemy bodies.

Yoriichi decided to become a samurai despite being taunted by Michikatsu, but just then the supposedly inferior twin showed a mastery of breathing styles then unknown. After his mother’s death, Yoriichi decided to run away and was not seen again for some time. On his escape he meets Uta, a girl whom he falls in love with and unhappily marries Kibutsuji Muzan will find her and kill her along with the baby she was carrying, leaving Yoriichi alone. This event brought him back to seek the path of the sword and led him to meet his brother Michikatsu again.

From there the mightiest generation of swordsmen of all time was born, with demon hunters learning breathing styles from Yoriichi’s sun breathing. A short time later, now a man, Yoriichi encounters Kibutsuji Muzan and in moments incapacitates the demon and brings him very close to defeat thanks to his unique and superhuman abilities. Muzan narrowly escaped death by fleeing, and Tamayo managed to throw off his master’s yoke at that precise moment. The Yoriichi’s journey continued and led him to Tanjiro’s ancestorsin some meetings seen in the dreams of the protagonist of Demon Slayer and to pass the dances that come from breathing the sun.

At the venerable age of 80, exceeding the age limit of 25 normally imposed on those branded by a superior power, he becomes blind and faces his brother Michikatsu, who is now transformed into the very powerful demon Kokushibo has. Despite his old age, he immediately recognized what had become of his brother and immediately attacked him without being able to kill him. Kokushibo prepared to fight back, but it was no longer necessary: Yoriichi died at that moment, unharmed and without being defeated. Thus died the strongest demon hunter, leaving behind the Model Zero Yoriichi doll from Demon Slayer 3×02 and a legacy that reappears in Tanjiro.
