Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Unlocked a new approach for Tanjiro Kamado to use water breathing with the latest installment in the series. The second season reached the fight of final high point of the arch of the red light district.
Tanjiro does his best to keep up with the speed and power both display pillar of sound, Tengen Uzuiboth from the duo of Rising Moons, Gyutaro and daki. The young man is struggling to do what he can with the movements available to him. But as the battle rages on, he achieves a new level of understanding through the use of his water breathing techniques.
If the previous episodes hadn’t already revealed all the moves that Tanjiro has at his disposal thanks to his training on the breathe waterWhat Tanjiro found while fighting Daki was that he actually stuck with Daki because his preferred fighting style didn’t seem to fit the flow of his techniques. He was very aggressive, but by blocking one of Gyutaro’s most powerful moves, Instead, Tanjiro knows how to use water breathing more defensively.
Previously, Tanjiro had seen that water breathing (and with it the teachings of Urokodaki) were incompatible with his body, and as a result he began to splinter his sword. But as he struggles to fend off Gyutaro’s venomous blood cuts in Demon Slayer 2×15, Tanjiro has a brainwave that brings him back to his teachings. He realizes that instead of addressing these attacks directly, he must use them to avoid them and divert them in another directionbecause when it comes to power versus power, the weaker side is always overwhelmed.
Water Breathing for Tanjiro proved to be a more defensive style, deflecting attacks in a new direction. In fact, his blade would never have been damaged if he had used it more defensively. So now Tanjiro has found it another path to true mastery of water breathing techniques and will potentially give him a significant advantage in upcoming battles in future episodes of the series. As long as they manage to get out of this arc alive, of course.
