Since his debut, Mugino has been surrounded by a strong aura of mystery and suffering. But the mysterious past of Konohamaru Sarutobi’s right shoulder is finally revealed in the next episode of Boruto: Naruto the next generations.
Mugino was introduced and shown in the previous story arc a suspicious character, careful and ready to confront. However, the mysterious ninja is one of Konohamaru’s most trusted friends, who revealed that he has saved his life on multiple occasions.
As the episodes progressed, Mugino revealed that he was suspicious of others because of his past and his life experience. At the end of the fourth great ninja war, the main ninja villages proclaimed the continuation of the alliance. The smaller countries, however, continued the brutal clashes that characterized the world prior to the advent of the threat dictated by Madara Uchiha.
In order to resolve these conflicts and bring peace to all nations, Mugino was assigned to a team whose sole mission it was Stop all riots. During his three-year journey, Mugino lost numerous friends, encountered suffering and pain and thus learned to avoid any relationship with strangers.
But as the anime’s episode 180 preview shows, there could be something behind his cautious psyche a memory of childhood. According to what is shown in the video, Mugino was a student of the third Hokage Hiruzen Sarutobi and could have made friends with his nephew Konohamaru on that occasion.
