In the 80s, Kentaro Miura created a world inspired by Europe in the Middle Ages with its castles, knights in armor and many battles with the sword. A dash of magic, lots of blood, and dark creatures added the rest, preparing readers for it Berserk, one of the most beautiful manga of all time.
During the series, the protagonist Gatsu was involved in many battles, both in his years as a mercenary and as a wanderer. To achieve his goal, he shot down fantastic creatures and powerful people. What were they Gatsu’s best battles in Berserk? Let’s retrace the history of Berserk from the beginning in preparation for the ranking with its five positions.
In fifth position, we open the top 5 with a clash from the Golden Age, Gatsu versus the Hundred Men. During one of their wars, Gatsu was forced to take refuge with Caska in a forest, and here he faced a hundred men of the enemy army, killing them from first to last. A demonstration of strength and brutality that does not go unnoticed.
Fourth place for a little duel that wrote a fundamental page in the history of Berserk. The one between Gatsu and Grifis wasn’t a normal duelbut the one between the leader of the Hawk Army and his right arm. Despite the short duration and dominance of Gatsu from the start, this is one of the battles in which the protagonist participated most significantly.
We’re still in the golden age with Gatsu VS Boscogn. During the siege of Doldrey, the hawk army was involved in a battle with the purple rhinoceros. The leader of the army was the tough Boscogn, whom Gatsu took care of himself. The protagonist of Berserk won after a grueling duel, first on horseback and then on foot.
For the second position we come to more recent times with Gatsu VS Grunbeld. One of the strongest apostles in Berserk was the opponent of a Gatsu who had just found the berserker’s armor. The result was a fight full of blows, but it did not end forever. Finally, the first position is for that Duel between Gatsu and Zoddwhere the immortal, to protect Grifis from the attacks of his former companion, started a battle on a blanket of snow.
What do you think are the most beautiful fights of Gatsu in Berserk?
