Warner Bros Japan unveiled a new promotional video for the anime adaptation of the manga, written and illustrated by Kazushi Hagiwara, Bastard!!: Ankoku no Hakaishin (Bastard!! Heavy metal dark fantasy). The video, which features content from the first five episodes and a soundtrack composed by Yasuharu Takanashiconfirmed that the project will last twenty-four episodes.
The press release also revealed new members of the voice cast, including:
- Kanae Itou as Lucien Renlen.
- Tomokazu Sugita like Abigail.
- Kensho Ono like Kall Su.
- Nao Toyama as Sheila Tuel Meta-Ilicana.
The series has its premiere planned for this year via the platform Netflix worldwide without confirming a specific date yet or if this project will have a dubbing into Latin Spanish. For his part, Hagiwara published the original manga in the magazine ultra jump from the publisher shueisha between October 1987 and May 2010, the work being compiled into a total of twenty-seven volumes. The work inspired a six-part OVA anime adaptation produced by the studios. AICLed by Katsuhiro Akiyama and scripts written by Hiroshi Yamaguchireleased in August 1992. As the data shows, the anime adaptation did not cover the entire story.
