Hajime Isayama has become one of the most important authors and mangaka in the industry thanks to the incredible and complicated story it tells attack on Titan. The adventure of Eren, Mikasa, and Armin continues to occupy a prominent place in the manga landscape, and in anticipation of finding out how the anime will end, the mangaka is back to portray them together.

Although he had already stated that he would be leaving Manga for a while and dedicating himself to opening a spa, Isayama is now in on it inextricably linked to his workand cannot ignore the immense popularity achieved, thanks largely to its animated adaptation, first by Wit Studio and now in the hands of MAPPA for the final season.

Therefore, the author returns sporadically to surprise fans with new illustrations and unpublished sketches, like the one shared by @AoTWiki in the post at the bottom of the page. Isayama went back several years from the present narrated in the anime and drew Eren, Mikasa and Armin when they were still carefree childrenaway from the brutality of war and the confusing truths about Paradis.
