attack on Titan works its way through season four, and so far all expectations have been met. The same, of course, doesn’t apply to his heroes: Eren has taken major turns in recent months, and the anime’s drift has prompted fans to watch theirs Colossal Giants pretty tight these days.
At least season four made that clear These creatures represent the end of humanity. Eren hopes to destroy the world with his new army of colossal giants, and these new giants are far more terrifying than anything the series has shown before.
As you can see above The Colossal Giants commanded by Eren are certainly different from the Colossal Giants we saw in the first seasons of the anime. The Bertholdt Giant has remained the reference for the Colossal Giants, and much of their design is still the same under Eren’s influence, but none of the Roar Giants resemble Armin’s Colossal Giant.
WIT studio gave Bertholdt a unique style as he was the only colossal giant at the time, but MAP study has optimized the design. As you can see, the Design is easier to replicate despite its complex shading. And as if that wasn’t enough, these new Colossal Giants are absolutely more terrifying.
From her facial features to her sunken eyes, the The new giants from Eren have nothing to envy to the giant from Bertholdt. As such, MAPPA Studio can be expected to focus on these behemoths and their deadly power as Eren nears his goals overseas.
What do you think of Studio MAPPA’s Colossal Giant? Do you think the studio’s aesthetic has improved since the first half of season four?
