The American programming block adults swim announced the production of the anime series Rick and Morty: The Anime Y Ninja Kamuiwhich will debut soon via Adult Swim itself and via the streaming service HD max.

Production Team (Rick and Morty: The Anime)

  • Takashi Sano (Tower of God, Sengoku Basara: Judge End) is responsible for directing the anime at the studios Telekom animation film. He previously directed the animated short films “Rick and Morty vs Genocide“Y”Summer Meets God (Rick Meets Evil)“. The anime will be an original work, with themes and events carried over from the main anime series Rick and Morty.

Summary of Rick and Morty

The series revolves around the adventures of the members of the House Smith, consisting of parents Jerry and Beth, their children Summer and Morty, and Beth’s father, Rick Sanchez, who lives with them as a guest. According to Justin Roiland, the family lives outside of Seattle, Washington. However, the adventures of Rick and Morty take place in infinite realities, with the characters traveling to other planets and dimensions through portals and Rick’s flying car.

Production Team (Ninja Kamui)

  • Sunghoo Park (Jujutsu Kaisen, god of high school) is responsible for directing the anime at the studios E&H production Y sola entertainment (Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim, Blade Runner: Black Lotus, Ultraman).
  • Takeshi Okazaki (Afro Samurai, Star Wars: Visions, Batman Ninja) is responsible for writing and supervising the screenplays.

Summary of Ninja Kamui

Ninja Kamui follows Joe Higan, a former ninja who has escaped his clan and is hiding with his family from his violent past in rural America. One night, an assassin team from his old organization ambushed him and punished Joe and his family in blood for betraying their old code. Rising from his apparent “death,” Joe will rise as his old self – the ninja Kamui – to avenge his family and friends. Kamui is a 21st-century ninja, a grim anachronism who pits his ancient skills against high-tech weaponry with brutal finesse. He must face trained assassins, fight cyborgs and rival ninjas to defeat the very clan that created him.
