CHAPTER 1
THE PARTY WITH GODS
We start exactly where the Manhwa from the god of high school, a clear account of corruption and a strong hand that is supposed to stop such a plague that invades the nations. Now the characters in this story are characterized by living in a world where martial arts, combat ability and supernatural physical strength are as normal as a “banana”. This representation of strength and mobility is characterized by three main characters:
Jim Morí; Our protagonist and boy with incredible skills who has only lost one fight so far, but is now looking for a rematch. His only family is his grandfather, the man who took care of him and taught him everything Jim knew. His ability goes beyond what he knows and he is about to take advantage of it in the course of practice and circumstances. Type of fight: RE Taekwondo. Power: Level 6. HP: 780
Han Daewi; He is the typical lonely and kindhearted boy who happens to be immensely guilty and drives him to work day and night to greet him because he feels more than guilty about paying his debts. He has incredible combat skills and only practiced them in cases of need or total patience. Type of fight: Full contact karate. Power: Level 9. HP: 630.
Yoo Mira; a “cute girl” who was cruelly judged for her fighting skills and cute looks. Well, that’s why it’s more fear than attraction. It is skillful with the sword and tends to be more aggressive under all circumstances. Type of fight: Monn Light Sword Stylez. Power: Level 9. HP: 410.
Park Mujin; The incognito man with the cross-shaped tattoo on his left hand, who apparently has a higher level of Korean command and who hides a hard past with his scars and facial features, plus the knowledge of a dark future and his protagonist. Type of fight: Not known. Power: Not known. HP: Not known.
Fighting is everything in this universe and everyone who practices it wants to be part of the celebrated tournament. The god of high school which will take place this time at the Seoul KORG Arena South Korea. Where not only wrestlers from Koreabut from other parts of the world.
Now the fight is focused on who is the strongest and how to defeat the rest of the opponents to reach the position that gives you the desire you crave. Some strive for ambition, others dream, and others just try to take something for granted. Answers are given in the course of the fighting.
PERSONAL OPINION
I will start with an opinion on how subjective the story would be, as we are engaging in something familiar that we want to know. Let’s not compare series with others, each series has its essence and differs from others in certain points. What impressed me most about this adaptation is the fact that we are a Korean Manhwa who, with the support of Line Webtoon and Crunchyroll, gave us an adventure that could lead us to imagine a world in which battles and human Strength prevail. They are as common as a banana. I’m thrilled by the fact that many of you may know other reading alternatives, but what’s even more exciting is that this Manhwa series is available for free on its original platform … My recommendation with the same emotion is: Read, you’ll like it, it is in color and there will always be more data in the reading than in the animation.
Now let’s examine what we’re curious about. Is the anime 100% based on the Manhwa? First of all calm, it is the first chapter, but if the question is: The first chapter that makes an impression and is based on the Manhwa? The truth is that yes and no, if it is very similar to what the Manhwa shows us, but they have left out a lot of interesting data that, based on my experience, could tell you that they will appear somewhat disorganized in the chapters. The messy word may not be the right one, but some of the things they omit from the Manhwa chapters will eventually be shown in the next episode of the anime. I make it clear that they could overlook it and if so … well, bad. Too much information must be known to better understand the series, important parts of the protagonist and his companions. I tell you that even Manhwa himself takes a constant journey into the past and present to clarify details.
I would also like to emphasize that unlike other adaptations like the Tower of God, the physicists of the characters were made in a very similar way, but unlike T.O.G. who respected the history of the Manhwa more. Both stories are incredible too and so far in the first chapter I have seen the promise of a series that will make room in our memories.
I am glad that Crunchyroll supports this kind of somewhat independent work like Webtoon and brings it to the small screen, because not only the manga has incredible stories, because there are many Manhwas that shine for their specialty and creativity.
All that remains for me to say is that I hope that this series meets your requirements and that you remember that bananas are rich in potassium, can be a great source of energy … and they just taste good.
This episode 1 covers chapters 1 through 8 of the Manhwa.
