This review about Princess Connect! Re: Dive 2 contains spoilers. If you haven’t seen the chapters, we encourage you to do so and then come back to read the review.

With the appearance of a mysterious knight ravaging Landosol,Gourmet Guild‘ decide to accept this mission to stop him and allow everyone to eat safely. To find him, they split into groups, Karyl with Pecorine and Kokkoro with Yuuki. The latter eventually confronted the knight, being surpassed in strength but saved by a swordswoman.
Meanwhile the ‘Guild White Wings‘, led by Monika, is also searching for the mysterious knight, hoping that the money they get from the search will help pay off their huge debt by destroying a bridge. However, they come across a goo that seems to bring objects to life, so their plan changes to find more of the goo to bring toys to life and sell them. But they are trapped by the substance.
In the center of the city, the Knights of Landosol face the mysterious knight, who turns out to be Jun, the leader of the knights. However, the mysterious swordswoman turns out to be the real Jun, and the “knight” turns out to be nothing more than her armor full of substance. As a team, they manage to stop her, but are alarmed when Yuuki and Karyl appear and are pursued by the immense amount of goo.
The substance once again fuses with the armor, creating a much larger and more dangerous enemy, allowing the ‘Gourmet Guild‘ comes into action by being on the spot. Featuring Kokkoro chaining his movements for a short time while the knights and commoners ‘free’ theGuild White Wings‘ and Charlie from inside the substance. Once that’s done, Pecorine finishes the job.

Guild White Wings
Originally called ‘White wing Landosol branch‘, but I ‘shortened’ it so his full name wouldn’t be so boring. This guild has Monika as leader and Kuuka, Ninon and Yuki as members. With the main aim of hiding the research that Monika de Landosol is doing for her country. Each of its members has its eccentricities that make it unique in its own way.
Monika, the leader who researches Landosol for her country, has a rather childlike appearance, so she dresses like a girl to the vast majority of people. Something he doesn’t like, something cliche for his character.”loli‘ despite being older than other characters. I didn’t think he was a bad character, but I feel like he wasn’t shown properly as he was in a somewhat “scattered” chapter in his storyline.
His seiyu is Ayumi Tsujiwho also gave voice to other characters, such as: Kozue Orihara (“chaos head“), Elise von Dietrich (“sky girl“), Beatrice Yvonne von Guldenhorf (“Zero no Tsukaima“), Ouka Yuouji (“NouCome“), among other.

Kuuka, a red-haired girl who fits the word “pervert” perfectly. Apart from demonstrating his desire for perversion with a mindset that finds something perverted in everything possible, almost nothing more of the character was shown. His aesthetic aspect doesn’t seem bad to me, but due to the lack of correct portrayal I can’t say that he’s a good character.
This pervert has likes seiyu to Yuri Nagatsumawhich was also done with: Yuri Carlton (“Kenya no magician“), Saton Shichimiya (“Chuunibyou Demo Koi ga Shitai!“), Hayuru Himekawa (“Masou Gakuen HxH“), Ichika Mizuhara (“Oneechang ga Kita“), Kanna Makino (“Tamako market“), Etc.

Yuki, a confident elf who loves herself so much she can’t stop looking at herself in the mirror. Always talking about her beauty. His word to describe it would be “vanity”. Little screen time and even less interaction with anyone other than her mirror to say I like her. Its aesthetic aspect, just like Kuuka’s, is very well attuned to show off its “descriptive word” in my opinion.
the seiyu What gives you a vote is Naomi Ozora. Other characters of seiyu have been: hana uzaki (“Uzaki-chan wa Asobitai!“), kiriha (“Tsugumomo“), Satanichia Kurumizawa McDowell (“Gabriel DropOut“), Chio Miyamo (“Chio-chan no Tsuugakuro“), Ruti Ragnason (“Shin no nakama“), among other.

Last but not least Ninon, a young girl dressed in samurai clothes but with a foreign accent. reminded me of Sotoka rakita (“Hitoribocchi no Marumaru Seikatsu“). Ninon’s innocence and seeming fascination with something resembling Japanese culture made her my favorite character of the ‘Guild White Wings‘, but like their peers, the lack of more character interactions and introductions made me feel like they had a somewhat forced introduction Princess Connect! Re: Dive 2 – Chapter 6.
satomi satou is the seiyu responsible for giving Ninon a voice. the seiyu He has also worked on characters such as: Aria Shichijo (“Seitokai Yakuindom“), mizuki shibata (“Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei“), Left (“BOFURI“), Tanjirou Kamado (“Kimetsu no Yaiba“), Wendy Marvell (“fairy tales“), among many others.

At first I thought that each member had something to do with a mortal sin… although there aren’t seven members and they don’t exactly align with each of them, to me it bears some resemblance to the point that it was the first what I thought when I saw a little more of its members.
A disaster
I honestly think so Princess Connect! Re: Dive 2 – Chapter 6 was a complete disaster in terms of what they wanted to tell in the episode. With a combination between the presentation of the ‘Guild White Wings‘ and more details about members of the ‘Nightmare Guild‘, in this case from 6.
I think these were stories that needed a whole chapter to tell, and one that could pave the way for the other. For example the in Princess Connect! Re: Dive 2 – In Chapter 6, the plot only focuses on Jun’s bow chasing his armor, aided by the ‘Gourmet Guild‘ and getting to know Pecorine a little better to make the leader of the knights suspicious of who Princess Eustiana is. At the end of the episode, and as if it were a post-credits scene, Monika would appear in one miniature make quick notes about what happened in Landosol in that episode/arc.
Or vice versa, with a chapter dedicated to the ‘Guild White Wings‘ and Monika’s investigation, which ends with the discovery of the goo that would take Jun’s armor in the future.
I cannot guarantee that the stories will be shown in Princess Connect! Re: Dive 2 – Chapter 6 is the right length to cover a single episode in the way I would have liked. However, I think that by having it and not adapting it, a somewhat important path was lost in the development of the main plot of the series.
After all, Christina has made it clear more than once that she suspects Her Majesty of being a beast occupying the throne, even though her “parents” are human. Something I remember mentioning itself out loud around Jun. So an arc with Jun interacting more with Pecorine might also increase Pecorine’s distrust of Her Majesty. Also in Princess Connect! Re: Dive 2 – Chapter 6 Mitsuki was shown making contact with a butterfly very similar to that of Metamorregnant in the previous chapters.
Basically, this Jun story had everything to be central to the anime’s plot, but its meaning was skewed by the introduction of Monika and her guild. Which I can’t deny felt forced.

If the introduction of ‘Guild White Wings‘ in this episode it was to make it easier after the suspense and action of the last few episodes, I think the option to give him his whole episode as I mentioned before was way better than that combination.
To be honest, I didn’t like this chapter at all Princess Connect! Re: Dive 2.
Error in the ‘Glutch’
As I said, I think Princess Connect! Re: Dive 2 – Chapter 6 had huge potential for the anime’s plot, but it was used very poorly to change its speed and/or depth. Although I was referring to the storyline at the time, I think the animation suffered something similar.
The animation shown in Princess Connect! Re: Dive 2 – Chapter 6 is not bad per se, but has no comparison to the one exhibited by Cygames images Recently. The movements weren’t that fluid, the design of the characters looked a bit simpler, etc. In addition, when speaking, I seemed to see some “desynchronization” between the characters and their words, as if it was a very basic and general movement . Something I could see in a character in the distance but not Pecorine talking about taking the Mysterious Knight quest.

The quality of the animation hasn’t decreased, but since it’s an episode with very good animation, the “change” was noticeable.
Since this was the chapter that marked the middle of the season, I see it as understandable that they wanted to change the pace in storyline and animation. However, I personally think they should have used that speed to show that this anime really has an interesting plot and not only orphans. However, looking at the trailer for the next episode, I don’t think they will capture the intensity of the storyline in this episode. Even if they have the opportunity, because of what is already done with the ‘Carmine Guild‘. It wasn’t much then, but I have a feeling it won’t be much, or almost none, this time.
Within my bets, chapters 8 and 9 will contain a bit of plot, but it will be the last two episodes that are interesting.
