Princess Connect! Re: Dive - Chapter 12: The specialty of the whimsical pastry ~ A memory of labyrinths and crepes ~
In Princess Connect! Re: Dive Chapter 12, during breakfast, Pecorine tells the other members of the 'Gourmet Guild' about the problems that are happening in the market, since they are spared by a monster that is on the bridge where the materials and food should arrive necessary to sell or prepare food. So they decide to confront him, using Karyl as a decoy and Pecorine giving him the final blow.
The next day, after a dream that Yuuki had, he begins a more rigorous training in the sword with the help of Pecorine. Within the training there was also a good diet, so they were eating in what was waiting for Karyl in a restaurant. However, a great noise and movement alarms them. A monsters entered the city.
Pecorine reaches where several people were, including the market vendors. Those who he saves from the monster, however, do nothing to his attacks. This is how, with only her protecting Karyl, she changes her strategy and ends up dealing damage to the monster, but she also receives a little. Kokkoro and Yuuki arrive to help them, but they cannot do much and before being attacked once again by the monster, they are mysteriously taken to a safe place.
The story begins to get interesting
Unfortunately we are in Princess Connect! Re: Dive - Chapter 12 until the story showed great signs of a very interesting plot. Something late, but that personally, rather than bother me, it ended up surprising me. Well, at this point I already expected the chapters that were still to be broadcast to be much more "relaxed". More focused on comedy than plot, like the other episodes.
However, I will not deny that a part of me wanted to be able to see that the story of this anime had more depth. Although at first I expected to see a little more of an arch centered on Karyl, as had been suggested in past episodes.
Going back to the story shown and mentioned in Princess Connect! Re: Dive - Chapter 12, there is something I can't stop thinking about regarding the story. More precisely, with reference to the story from before the events of the anime began, basically Yuuki's past. Since Ameth mentioned that Yuuki's dream may be a repeating past or perhaps the future. What intrigued me because of the possibility of loops in time.
For example, what if it is Yuuki's “past” and at the same time his future? In other words, that happened in a hypothetical parallel world, and being a bad result, Yuuki ended up "going back" in time to try to change that ending. However, even though some things have changed, the ending remains the same. Now, what if it's not the first time it's been repeated?
Perhaps with this my mind is already wandering beyond what is really the original and main story of the anime. But I couldn't help but think when I heard those words from Ameth.
With that said, and if it were completely or partially true, Yuuki's past would have much more weight than he would have originally imagined. Well, hypothetically, we are talking about how you have already seen how your colleagues are defeated (or even killed) on more than one occasion. This would give him a solid reason why he has no memories of that moment and why he is slowly recovering them. Well, recovering your memory at once could generate trauma to remember all these bitter moments that happened.
Again, it is just a theory. My theory. So it might be fine or not. As I mentioned earlier, I was unable to have the privilege of playing Princess Connect! Re: Dive as to know how much of what I believe and imagine is real and how much went out of my mind.
The Princess of Landosol
Princess Connect! Re: Dive - Chapter 12 got off to a tense start with Pecorine's dream / nightmare. In which she saw her parents, but they did not recognize her and even disappeared. Waking up with tears in his eyes. With that start and the fact that her parents looked like they belonged to royalty, I can confirm that Pecorine really is a princess. Although his true name remains to be revealed.
Another detail that affirms this is the painting that Kokkoro finds in the castle, in which a girl identical to Pecorine appears, together with two adults with the same appearance that Pecorine's parents had in their dream.
The always energetic and gluttonous swordsman will have a sadder past than the character would have you believe. Although it is not that he is the first character to be like this, and surely not the last. Talking about anime in general and not just about this series.
Now, this also interested me for a simple reason, how did Pecorine end up in the place where he is currently? To this question I have given several answers, without having one that I believe is the one that most agrees with everything. But, to which I have more suspicions it has a greater amount of truth is the theory that she was supplanted in the castle, like her parents.
I mean that, currently, his majesty and the main antagonist, has shown to have control and / or support of the Shadow, beings capable of taking the form of someone or possessing him. Something they already showed in previous chapters. So there is a chance, in an infliction, some Shadow have impersonated Pecorine's parents, and the princess herself. Adapting their ways and doing what is necessary so that the current ruler is where she is right now.
Another of my theories is that his majesty really belongs to royalty. Or at least to the family coming from it. For example, that it is the blood sister of Pecorine that her pride led her to want to occupy the throne; or that she is a cousin / sister of the old king and always wanted to have power for her.
Honestly, this second theory is the one I trust the least for not having a solid foundation, or at least one that compares to the first theory. Well, it is not that this one has many solid foundations to believe that it is true.
Whatever the case, in Princess Connect! Re: Dive - Chapter 12 just gave us a taste of what could come to this anime in history. And that perhaps that will help the development of the characters, among them the closest I see is Karyl. For the interactions that both have had throughout this anime. Interactions in which mostly Pecorine has been helping Karyl.
Although also for the hope of being able to see more moments that can incinune a route yuri enter both. Dreaming costs nothing.
Technical details of Princess Connect! Re: Dive - Chapter 12
To be honest, in Princess Connect! Re: Dive - Chapter 12 I saw some moments when the animation quality had a slight drop. These moments were mainly third-person scenes, and luckily, none of them very important. For example, when Karyl complains about the lack of bread while they are having breakfast. The quality of the characters' aesthetics was not as good as many other times in similar scenes.
While the really important scenes in the animation section, such as the battles, had an impeccable quality. Also in the detailed situation, as in the movements of objects and characters. Sometimes a little over the top, but understandable to keep the comedic feel in the animation during the scene.
Of these battles, my favorite without a doubt was when Pecorine is already ultimately protecting Karyl from the "Evolved Shadow." Especially because of that Shadow, who aesthetically enchanted me as an enemy, as well as the visual effects of the character himself, his abilities and his attacks. After all, one of the great forts of Princess Connect! Re: Dive is the quality of your animation.
This entire episode kept me excited and emotional, about Pecorine and Yuuki's dreams, as well as the battles displayed. And since the next one will be the last in the series, I hope you continue this. Showing a bit more of Yuuki and Pecorine's past, revealing the identity of more than one character, and exhibiting a battle worthy of the end.
But, what I most expect from the next and last chapter of Princess Connect! Re: Dive is that they announce the power to play the namesake game on which this anime is based. Taking away the regional blockade that it currently owns. That I really want to swear it, regardless of whether it remains in Japanese or it is translated into English or other languages.
