Chapter 10: Thrown Stones

After a failed inspection from the previous chapter, Holdem leaves the village, but not before saying goodbye to his old acquaintance, Loux. Meanwhile, Saybil and Holt talk to each other before the boy says he has regained his memory. This surprises Holt, but what shocks him the most is that Saybil starts talking about love. "I think I like Professor Lo."

For her part, Loux manages to accidentally overhear her students' conversation on the way back from the wolf servant's farewell. It's a tricky situation, so she decides to pretend she didn't hear anything, but Holt goes looking for her and unceremoniously tells her. The cuckold girl is afraid that the situation will end with her teacher abandoning her.

Since Saybil is beginning to fear killing someone by transmitting her magic, she visits Zero. In the shop of the "Muddy Darkness Witch" she tells the boy the identity of his father and the reason for his existence. Saybil takes the revelations very calmly and finally asks his aunt to train him in transfer magic.

However, a scream shakes everyone in the village. The boy Loux saved recovered but tried to kill Kudo when he saw him. The young man, now a prisoner, is responsible for planting the "remnant of the disaster" that almost caused Laios' death. The adults guarding the village realize a powerful group is behind them and prepare for the next hit.

Mahoutsukai Reimeiki Chapter 9 Opinion

Problems shake the witch village, both personal and general. A group seemingly backed by a high-ranking church has begun to destroy what Albus is trying to build: coexistence between wizards and ordinary people. Also, each special class student faces their own demons.

I personally think that Chapter 9 of Mahoutsukai Reimeiki It was one of the best in the series. Not only do we see Saybil learning about her past and realizing that it is no longer empty, we see Holt's past haunting her. Will the young woman be able to trust Tyrant? The kids who have been spinning since episode 1 have started weaving.

Those eyes are special

Finally Chapter 9 of Mahoutsukai Reimeiki gives us the moment we've all been waiting for: Zero revealed his past to Saybil. The life and death situation experienced by the young man in the last episode brought to light the most painful memories to survive. Saybil is no longer indifferent to dying.

Because of this, Zero decided to tell him everything about his past. Let's check what was revealed. First, Saybil appears to be part of Thirteen's plan to create a world for Zero. Somehow he foresaw that if he fathered a child with a certain woman, it would be born with infinite magic. However, the woman, Saybil's mother, spotted him and fled Thirteen.

If true, then Thirteen also foresaw that Zero would soon suffer from a lack of magic. Although I think it's a fate that all witches share. Although without comparing Zero to Albus' grandmother, the albino condition seems to have come prematurely. Will there be a compelling reason or just the inevitable coincidence?

Anyway, we now understand why Zero doesn't want to use his nephew to cure his lack of magic. For her logical father, Saybil is just a drum kit for her beloved little sister. If Zero took even a little bit of Saybil's magic for herself, she would feel like she was robbing them of their humanity. Then it would be just a tool, as Thirteen saw it.

Who would you think of when you thought you were going to die?

In episode 9, love is in the air Mahoutsukai Reimeiki. Saybil worries about her love life for some strange reason. Perhaps the situation in which he almost died gave him the impetus to try to understand Holt's feelings for him. Unfortunately for the young woman, her attempts to explain the matter to the young man only end in her heart being broken.

"I think I like Professor Lo." Those are the words both Holt and Loux heard Saybil say. The teacher is worried about her dear student's feelings and maybe a little nervous. Let's remember that he once said that love was no longer necessary for him because of his long life. Is that true or has he never found his Saybil in the past?

Anyhow, it seems that there is a love triangle between Holt, Loux and Saybil. Although we must consider that the boy has only just begun to understand his feelings, nothing is certain. What is certain is that whoever you choose, someone will end up heartbroken. Holt or Louis? Or both? I have a theory.

We know Saybil's life could be very long if he trains enough. I might as well choose Holt now and live happily with her for decades. Holt would inevitably leave this world, and a more mature and wiser Saybil would "accidentally" meet his beloved teacher, who would accompany him for centuries. What do you think?

The way others see you can become a shield

What a beautiful sentence published by the beautiful Heartful. A sentence that I might have discarded when I was young - perhaps because I wouldn't fully understand it. In Chapter 9 of Mahoutsukai Reimeiki, also shows us how Tirano started to adapt to the village. You can tell he's a practical guy and he'll do the job he's hired to do.

But we got to see a bit more of his personality and I don't think he's a bad person. Yes, he has no qualms and seems to enjoy killing everyone, but that's not what I mean. As we have seen in his interactions with others, he has fulfilled his end of the bargain, but he never misses an opportunity to do or say anything that makes others uncomfortable. Why?

Maybe it's because you want to avoid getting too close to people. He doesn't want to form a strong bond with anyone, maybe out of fear or something else, and tries to alienate them by inflicting fear on them. But neither Heartful nor the village children seem to fear him. His shield will no longer serve him here, maybe this village will be the one that will make the tyrant repent of his sins?

Maybe this is the village he belongs in and they won't judge him for his past deeds. However, there remains one obstacle he must overcome first and that is Holt and the past he has with her. Chapter 9 of Mahoutsukai Reimeiki reminded us that Holt has already lost a childhood friend to Tyrant. Will he be able to overcome them? Or did Tyrant really kill her friend?

Conclusions

Wow, I think I was a little too excited when writing this review. But don't be so critical, it was a good episode in which a lot of things happened that were worth commenting on. And that I left out several to prevent this review from becoming a long essay. If you think there is something important that I left out in Chapter 9 Mahoutsukai Reimeikifeel free to comment.

But boy did I really enjoy the episode. I loved Holt's stupidity - and their lofty block that kept Dad from hitting them - and the new character they introduced. A small, redheaded waifu with glasses and a wagging tongue is always welcome. There is no doubt that it will be the one who will evangelize Tyrant and perhaps steal his heart as well. You know, it was a love breathing episode.

Finally, I must apologize for my inconsistency in the past few weeks when posting reviews (Can you give up being an adult? hehe!). I hope nothing prevents me from finishing the review of this great anime in time. Anyway, now readers, I'd like to ask you what you think of Chapter 9 Mahoutsukai Reimeiki?
