This review about Karakai jouzu no Takagi-san 3 contains spoilers. If you haven’t seen the chapter yet, we encourage you to do so and then come back to read the review.
Summary of chapters
The queen of pranks is still active but is looking more and more like a couple with her innocent darling. Not until they go to school together, walk the dog, or go to the library together, with their respective scenes of jealousy as children. Even if they climb the 415 steps and arrive at the place where love lasts forever. Nishikata was bound to Takagi in his innocence, demonstrated in the invitation to see the film of 100% unrequited love, which offer was only for couples.
chapter opinion
I didn’t review Chapter 7, not because there wasn’t anything interesting, but because of the work (life hurts), although I could still watch the chapter and scream with emotion. Although these chapters reflect today’s days, they have a small downturn, but they do. Which? This season we’ve seen progress, more insight into Nishikata, just some of that has died here. Why? There is no greater attention to what Nishikata suspects about Takagi, that she likes him. That, at least for me, reduces the emotions and makes it a bit more routine and stagnant.
Everything else is fine, even if we see these chapters separately they are very good, but after chapter 6 it feels like a mini recap. #NishikataDateAccount.
unconscious courtship
Chapter 7 gave us what the subtitle mentions, a couple relationship between the protagonists where neither of them knows what’s happening, especially Nishikata. They do too many things couples do, go back to school and walk a dog. The only thing missing is that Nishikata takes Takagi on the bike and the love between them ends (something like Kimi no Iru Machi or High Score Girl and other romantic animes). I especially loved the dog part, Takagi dressed up as someone I knew and it brought back memories.
Jealousy!
Back in the library (I don’t think it’s been a week), only now Takagi is sewing and says it’s for a boy. There, a very understandable instinct is activated in Nishikata, but it has to be handled carefully. In this case it doesn’t seem extreme or toxic to me because it doesn’t cause problems for the forehead (which it doesn’t leave). The boy doesn’t know how he feels yet, but he knows he doesn’t want to lose her. But again #NishikataDateAccount
the 415 steps
Already for chapter 8 they give us 4 very delightful sub-chapters. Just one problem, Mana doesn’t deserve it, her partner is too good for her (hers can be toxic). It’s fun to see the different interactions that the characters have had with these stairs that don’t always trigger the same thing, and that’s good because we can empathize with some of these other situations better.
On the other hand, Yukari reminds me of a character from Vivan los ninos, for whom she put love or romance in everything. If there are such people. But hey, Nishikata still can’t express his feelings, he even denies that there is anyone. That can at least reassure Takagi that he has a clear path.
PS: I just saw an image from the adult manga where they go to the same place but with Chi, showing that Nishikata accepted the challenge to bring Takagi back. How beautiful.
the movies of love
Finally we have a very nice streak in my opinion, within the best of this season I think. Nishikata and Takagi give each other films that the other party likes in one way or another. Takagi knows Nishikata well, so he chooses better; In the case of the child, although he does not know the taste of the forehead, he thought of it so as not to take revenge, for which it is already a merit. Although the most important thing about this part is the 100% unrequited love movie that has a duo-only promotion and it turns out that Nishikata thought of Takagi to buy something like that. She, it seems to me, wanted to invite him but couldn’t, as can be deduced from her parting words, although in the end she half-dared to send a message on her cell phone.
