Chapter 14
Kakkou no Iinazuke Chapter 14 begins with the end of the previous episode. Erika reveals that if she fails the next test, she has to go home, so a new Spartan lesson must begin. However, Erika's incompatibility with studies causes friction with Nagi, although they soon make amends and she eventually manages to pass the exam. A new event is here, Nagi's neighborhood festival calls on him and Sachi to help out at their booth. While serving customers, Hiro appears and greets Nagi, who introduces him to Sachi as her little sister, but she doesn't seem to want to interact with the girl. After Nagi sets up a "date" with Hiro, Sachi is upset and decides to let him do the cleaning and jump to the festival with Erika. Strangely, they both run into Hiro and then Erika introduces Sachi as her little sister again, causing confusion for the girl.
Chapter 15
Kakkou no Iinazuke Chapter 15 begins with Erika and Nagi going to the festival. Due to the work they entrusted to him, Iro had to cancel the "date", so Nagi changed his plans and decided to accompany Erika since Sachi had other plans. The party was a lot of fun for both of them, Erika's ignorance brought them good times. After running away from Erika's fans, they both get to see the fireworks where Hiro eventually catches up to them. But first she wanted to clarify Sachi's situation, although she ran away at first, she finally decided to tell her the truth. Hiro took it well and even joked with them about being the promised alliance. In the end Hiro had his little moment with Nagi to promise himself there would be no more secrets between them which was seen by Sachi. She doesn't look well at Hiro and wants to know Erika's opinion.
The effort of both
There is no effort that is not without a goal, although while studies are important, there are times when they just aren't our thing. Studying is not a priority for Erika, not because she has no interest in it, but because she is focused on her own growth and self-discovery. Therefore, living alone with Nagi and Sachi is something very important to her, as it is her declaration of independence. It is the most concise way it has to grow by itself, so it is not easy to leave this page. Erika's learning efforts are not due to not finishing last, but to her struggle to be independent.
Contrary to what was for Nagi, studying is her best means to reach her goal, her effort is put into constant learning because she has a goal. Since he has worked with all his might, he cannot understand Erika's problem in concentrating on studying. Both are people committed to their ideals, however their mentalities constantly clash as both received different education. But what this study lesson has shown is that at the end of the day, both have the same sense of effort, and it always pays off. In addition, it is emphasized that both, although they see it differently, pursued the same goal, which was that the coexistence they led would not end.
secrets are over
Episode fourteen ended on a small cliffhanger showing a confused Hiro revealing an unclear relationship between Nagi, Erika and Sachi. Although Chapter Fifteen doesn't directly start with what happens after this revelation, it wasn't obvious either and allowed us to see a Hiro who was in no doubt and confronted both of them. Although there was an initial flight, the resolution at the end was to tell Hiro the truth and finally face the situation they all found themselves in. Bottom line, she didn't bother, actually she had no right to as she's been in a somewhat similar situation herself since getting engaged. Another point that Erika was unaware of, but now that it's all airing, they both seem to agree that they'll become even more friends.
The truth is that the mysteries aren't entirely over yet, and knowing everything about the other doesn't mean there aren't barriers to overcome. But the three of them will find that out in time, because absolute sincerity is not always possible, and even when it is, someone gets hurt by it. We must not forget that this is a harem, which means that friendship will eventually turn into rivalry and it will be up to them whether this is good for their friendship or not. It's a harem, I repeat, but that doesn't necessarily mean everyone will win, which at first foretells at least a broken heart.
Sachi's feelings
We cannot leave out a character who left us some very significant moments in his discreet role. Well, Sachi can't stop loving her brother Nagi and in her own way she tries to support her sister Erika, even if it causes conflicts in her heart. What Sachi didn't consider was a second girl, Hiro wasn't in her calculations and we can already see that the girl doesn't like it. Maybe because of Nagi's obvious interest in her. Even though Sachi can support Erika, it definitely doesn't seem like she can support another girl.
The upcoming interactions between Sachi and Hiro will determine the status quo of their relationship. The truth at the moment is that Sachi doesn't accept her, but she's not someone to rush into, so she goes with Erika's opinion. The answer she gives will be crucial to the minor's next steps, but knowing Erika, we know she'll be speaking of her appreciation for the purple-haired girl. The relationship of these four could change even more.
Final comment
Kakkou no Iinazuke Chapters 14 and 15 were very dynamic episodes. They were full of the comedy of the series and didn't stop pushing the plot and making some important revelations. Generally they were easy chapters with their suspense point. Something very common in this series, or perhaps the genre of this story in general, is that they maintain a constant rhythm of comedy and unbalanced suspense. The comedic parts predominate and the reveals or climaxes happen very quickly so you don't feel the real progress until it explodes.
An example of the above is what happens in episode fifteen. It's all laughter and fun and when the truth comes out it all happens very quickly and we return to comedy. A strange narrative break is felt, but when Hiro catches up with Nagi and promises her there will be no more secrets, the tension mounts and we discover that the story hasn't stopped moving forward after all. But another outburst of emotion comes and the feeling is lost until it comes up again when Sachi blurts out her question to Erika. It's a very odd narrative with very cliche breaks in genre, but that doesn't stop it from working.
As far as the review, as you may have noticed, TaeMa couldn't bring you a review this time. On this occasion I'll help you a little, although obviously I don't follow the series at all. Anyway, I'll leave you with the usual questions: what do you think of these chapters? What do you think Erika's answer will be? Why is Nagi never in the right mood at episode endings?
