Gotoubun no Hanayome 2 – Chapter 5: Very good job
On their first visit to the temple, Raiha and Futaro meet the Nakano sisters, whom they then invite to their home. The quintuplets are already having a strategic talk while Raiha and Futaro play in the room. Well, they want to give you something in compensation for being their tutor for free. However, this is something that you are not interested in right now as you can reward it when everyone is successful.
Ichika falls asleep during her study session, so Futaro wanted to wake her until he was stopped by Nino. Because Ichika worked longer to pay for all the expenses of the place. So Itsuki suggests that they also work, offer different options, but have their complications due to each individual’s personalities, strengths and weaknesses.
One of the many roles Ichika took on trying to make more money, whether it was small projects, eventually led her to the place where Futaro works. Be there to record a scene for a movie. It’s embarrassing to be seen by Uesugi, but she always sticks to her role during the shoot.
Nino, Yotsuba and Futaro go shopping to take advantage of an offer. Leaving the place, they observe a conversation between Itsuki and his father and begin to spy on them. However, regarding her poor academic performance and her return home, Itsuki is refusing to return to this homeland if Futaro continues to be banned from entry, which her sisters would agree on. Therefore his father decides to accept Futaro again as tutor of the quintuplets under certain conditions. Well, if they fail the next exam again, they will change schools.
Despite your intelligence, you are pretty stupid
Although the events that occurred in Gotoubun no Hanayome 2 – Chapter 5 is not very critical for now, they serve as a connector for what will happen in the future. Although the plot in this episode isn’t as active as that of the previous chapterYes, it had its key moments in terms of the characters. Especially the quintuplets with events between them and Futaro.
Itsuki and Nino were the least involved this time. Itsuki is the one who mentions that maybe they should get a job as well as the one who talks to his father. While Nino Apun continues to ask whether he managed to forget Kintaro or see Uesugi as his charming prince. Both had personal rather than active progress. Something I genuinely like as we came from an arc where both were the main actors.
The most “active” were Ichika and Miku. Ichika for meeting Futaro at work, her efforts to support her sisters, and the compliments Futaro received for them. As for Miku, she had interactions with Futaro in preparing him New Year’s dinner (quite dangerous, but life is a risk) and his approach when he asked her for help with a problem. Miku also had more indirect moments with him, like his fantasies about what would happen after a kiss, as well as the chocolates.
With that, these two Nakano sisters begin to move forward and reveal a bit more about their upcoming character development. Something that brings me uncomfortable moments from the manga mostly related to Ichika.
The one I had the most to think about was without a doubt Yotsuba, although she had very few moments Gotoubun no Hanayome 2 – Chapter 5. But one of them is quite remarkable, the “kiss” he gave Futaro on the cheek. With that, Yotsuba is again the first to achieve a “breakthrough” with Futaro, as it has to be remembered that Yotsuba stood in the first season of the anime Futaro, although she later said it was a joke.
Something I remember perfectly by then, Yotsuba was classified as very bad at lying. I even remember suspecting them from that moment on, as no one would expect an attack from the most “honest” quintuplets.
It could talk more about Yotsuba, but it would include the manga in fairly advanced parts of the plot. So I’m not going to avoid spoilers. However, I confess that from this event in Gotoubun no Hanayome 2 – Chapter 5 In the end, I was sure of the outcome of my theory about Rena’s identity.
In short, although there were moments that will affect the plot in the future, Gotoubun no Hanayome 2 – Chapter 5 was more of a connector for the upcoming arc than an arc as such. When I first saw it, I couldn’t help but put it together with what many in the anime call “filler”. A secondary or tertiary arc that interrupts a much more important arc in the presentation. Though it isn’t.
Slight changes
As I mentioned earlier, the plot is from Gotoubun no Hanayome 2 – Chapter 5 is not as deep as in previous episodes that one talks about it in detail. However, there is something that I think it would be good to highlight in relation to the events in this chapter, the changes in the events.
Most were quite small and had little impact on customization. For example, the fact that Futaro’s resignation came as a flashback that I previously mentioned the possibility that this could happen.
But there is one who amazed me with the sudden change from scene to scene. I mean the whole thing since Nino, Yotsuba and Futaro went shopping. At first I didn’t mind that there were changes, but later those changes showed something that ultimately led to a mismatch in the EU matrix.
In the manga, Yotsuba goes to the toilet when she gives Nino the rice sack. So they both leave the mall without her, see Itsuki and her father talking in the cafeteria, and step inside so they can hear them better. Just Nino and Futaro. Then Yotsuba arrives at the same moment of the conversation between the two as in the animated adaptation.
As I said, I don’t mind the small change. But what the matrix was the one who from one moment to the next Nino, Yotsuba and Futaro were already in the cafeteria. I mean, not even one of them mentioned the fact that they couldn’t know what Itsuki and his father were talking about. They just teleported.
In this strange transition, I confess that the sentence of Fat Tony: ‘Let’s see, let’s see … what happened?’.
That being said, the animation gets simpler and more buggy in my opinion. To the point where even the characters’ facial expressions lose the detail that keeps the balance between the quality of the animation and the balance. Not all of them, of course. But I won’t deny that I miss the animation style of season one, where I remember there were plenty more scenes with details that made them look like exits from the manga.
In the sound section in Gotoubun no Hanayome 2 – Chapter 5 I have a feeling that the musicalization volume was very high in some scenes. Since there have been some where the volume in my opinion was equivalent (or even higher) to the volume of the voices of the characters speaking during the scene.
It’s early enough to make sure the animation is in a tail spin. But that also worries me in its own way. Because they show this quality early on Gotoubun no Hanayome 2. Taking into account that we haven’t even reached the middle of the season.
I hope it will improve in the next few episodes. But just in case I’m already preparing to see much lower quality throughout the animation.
