Chapter 10: Beautiful Flower
We begin chapter ten of Gleipnir With Shuichi and Clair shooting the gang leader Madoka to no avail, Clair comes out of the suit as the leader invites everyone to join the gang once they choose who to deliver as a sacrifice so that the others can live. They take advantage of the time they are given to choose someone to take control of the situation and seek a solution, however twisted it may be. Ikeuchi proves how cowardly and unreliable he is and dies by hanging for nearly revealing his gang’s secrets, while Isao faces the decision to use his beautiful gift for something terrible in order to survive. Clair’s plan goes perfectly, the gang like Madoka fall into the trap, most are not expected to survive.
The punishment for pride
The leader of this gang clearly has all the advantage and experience to make the most of the situation, but with all these apparent advantages he makes the mistake of trusting and falling for Clair’s game. The idea of what Madoka wants is simple and it worked well maybe for a while until someone much more complicated came along and turned her rules against it, Clair used everything in her environment to change the game in her favor and the theirs, so if they hadn’t been made to choose who should die this wouldn’t have happened.
Clair and Shuichi
She is ruthless but she is not bad only that she is not good either, Shuichi knows it and terrifies him but at the same time she admires his strength, conviction and tenacity, they are not necessarily contradictory emotions especially if you take into account all the nuances that there are between what good and bad. Shuichi is ready to stop being just a medium and be an active part in what has happened committing himself on the same level as her.
Clair is a character that all the time is looking for solutions without mental or moral limits to stop her, which is why she once again survived, the way she handled Isao using her weaknesses so that it was less terrible to face what they were about to do. and using his gift to do what is necessary, terrible as it may be, I really like myself.
He is a character who does not waste too much time on reacting to things and takes all the advantages he can each time, has a good instinct for what he perceives in others and takes risks whenever necessary. They survived because they trusted their instincts, and because they used the values and rules of others to their advantage. This is how the leader of the gang died, she perceived that her affection and loyalty for her gatherers was true and I bet her on the sense of duty to take advantage of the opportunity and escape.
A sister’s duty
Clair finally has a clear objective, she will try to save her sister. He understands that Elena is not bad but she has done terrible things and can only do one of two things; save her or kill her. There is no evil in itself, it is people and what they are capable of doing is the real problem, it is not the power that they can get from the coins, it is what people do with that power.
And so an infinite cycle begins between doing something bad for a false belief and doing something bad for a true belief, and everything in between are misunderstandings and bad decisions, it will not be easy to determine what to do on all occasions. So in such extreme cases it is better to be guided by other intuitions and try to do as little damage as possible, since it is impossible to get out without getting your hands dirty if you want to survive, here there is no place for blind innocence and from now on the objective Clair’s will be to save her sister no matter how far she must go.
