Though Shueisha is still looking for the next phenomenon to bring the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump, the editor has found two chickens laying golden eggs in his hands over the past two years, albeit under somewhat random circumstances. Immediately afterwards, Demon Slayer actually exploded Jujutsu Kaisen.
But when Demon Slayer’s success came unexpectedly, with numbers still hard to metabolize for anyone, Jujutsu Kaisen’s seemed predestined instead. The manga was already enjoying some popularity, but it was only with the anime by Studio MAPPA that sales of the jewel rose from Gege Akutami has seen an upswing.
However, barring unforeseen circumstances, the manga will not continue for long as the author’s plans are short-term. In fact, a few months ago in an interview with Star Planning, the Sensei revealed the end of Jujutsu Kaisen within the next two years, a decision that is still awaiting a response from its editor. As things stand, however, Akutami has only the end of Fushiguro was set with that of Itadori is still to be planned. Sukunas has also not been confirmed and there is much indecision about the demon’s end.
We just have to wait for the next implications of the manga to know if the sensei really means Complete Jujutu Kaisen by 2023. Do you think this is a possible deadline or will it continue for a long time? Let us know yours with a comment below.
