The author Shun Kazakami announced via their Twitter account that the planned spin-off manga based on the character Akane Shinjou from the original studios anime Trigger, SSSS.Gridman, has been canceled due to differences regarding the direction of the manga’s history. Kazakami added that this project was under discussion for a year, and apologized for its cancellation.

For its part, SSSS.Gridman is an original anime based on a series tokusatsu (name that refers to any serious Japanese live-action that makes absurd use of special effects) issued between 1993 and 1994. The series was produced by a collaboration between Tsuburaya Productions and the studies Trigger.

The series premiered in October 2018 and featured twelve episodes produced under the direction of Akira Amemiya and scripts written by Keiichi Hasegawa. Subsequently, a new production was announced that serves as a spiritual sequel entitled SSSS.Dynazenon which will have the same production team as the first, again including the participation of the studios Trigger.

Synopsis of SSSS.Gridman
