The Executive Committee of the fourteenth edition of the Manga Taisho Award revealed the selection of ten nominees for the occasion. It is worth noting that the English name of this award is “Cartoon Grand Prize” and it is an annual manga award in Japan. Selection is limited to series with eight or fewer compiled volumes to promote emerging titles. The library staff nomination committee first selects five series and the titles with the ten best positions on the generated list become official nominees of the year. Finally, a second round of voting determines the winner and second and third place.
This year’s committee consisted of 95 people who selected a total of 216 titles. Any title published in 2020, and again fewer than eight compiled volumes, were eligible. The second round of voting determines the winner and second and third place. The results will be announced at the end of March next.

- Sousou no freezing, written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe.
- Onna no Sono no Hoshi ((Hoshi from the girls’ garden), written and illustrated by Yama Wayama.
- Karaoke Iko! ((Let’s go to karaoke!), written and illustrated by Yama Wayama.
