The famous Japanese publisher Shogakukan A few hours ago revealed the titles of the 11 manga candidates for the sixty-sixth edition of the prestigious Shogakukan Manga Awards. The award ceremony on January 19th will crown the best Shonen, Shojo and General Manga of 2020. Below you can read the names of the candidates divided by category.

Best manga for kids

  • Duel Master by Shigenobu Matsumoto
  • Chocolat no Mahou by Rin Mizuho

Millet Manga Shonen

  • Karakai jozu no Takagi-san by Soichiro Yamamoto
  • Burning Kabaddi by Hajime Musashino
  • Tatsuki Fujimoto's chainsaw man

Best shojo manga

  • Kuzu to Kemomimi (Scrap and animal ears) by Shippo Sugi
  • Yuzuki-sanchi no Yon Kyoudai (The four brothers of the Yuzuki household) by Shizuki Fujisawa
  • Koi or Shiranai Boku-tachi wa (We who know nothing about love) by Minami Mizuno

General manga millet

  • The destruction of the dead demon by Inio Asano
  • Promise Cindarella by Oreko Tachibana
  • Hakozume: Kōban Joshi no Gyakushou (Hakozome: Counter-attack by a police box) by Miko Yasu

All four categories are equally important and have won important mangas in recent years. In 2020, the crown for Best General Manga rested on the head of Kaguya-sama: Love is War by Aka Akasaka, while in 2019 Dr. Stone triumphed.

This year, the challenge for the best is certainly the heatedest with Chainsaw man's big favorite. We remind you that Fujimoto's manga is nearing completion and could soon receive an anime adaptation.
