On the official page for the manga by Hazuki Takeoka and illustrated by Tiv, Masamune-kun no revengeIt has been announced that the work has more than three million copies in circulation, collected in its ten compilation volumes.
For their part, Takeoka and Tiv began to publish the manga in the magazine Monthly comic Rex from the publisher Ichijinsha in October 2012 and completed in June 2018. The publisher has compiled the work in a total of ten volumes. A special chapter on Masamune and Aki’s life after the events at the end of the story was published in Japan on August 27th.
The manga inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by the studios. Silver link, Headed by Mirai Minato and scripts written by Michiko Yokote, published January 2017.
Synopsis of Masamune-kun no Revenge
As a child, Masamune Makabe is rejected by a rich and beautiful girl named Aki Adagaki, who called him “piggy” because of his fat boy appearance. In search of revenge, Masamune works hard to improve and returns an incredibly handsome, albeit narcissistic, student. When he meets Aki again, he is ready to take revenge.
With the help of Aki’s maid, Yoshino Koiwai, Masamune slowly begins to build her relationship with Aki to break her heart when the time is right. However, as his friendship with Aki grows, Masamune begins to question the goals of his devious plans and see if this is what his heart really desires to carry them out.
