My hero academia is now one of the most important works of the Japanese comic scene and one of the pillars of the current generation of Weekly Shonen Jump. The manga’s writer, Kohei Horikoshi, worked on several projects before reaching his current masterpiece. Let’s see what they are together.

Sensei’s superhero work is close to the release of Chapter 297 of My Hero Academia and is the most popular series of his career that has made him famous around the world. However, before the author got to this point, he has tried other feats. Let’s see together what they are:

  • Nukegara It was his debut work, a self-contained chapter that enabled him to make himself known by finishing sixth in the 72nd edition of the Tezuka Prize in 2006.
  • However, the master’s first published work was Tenko, a 2007 oneshot telling the adventures of the eponymous character Tenko, a boy with a tragic past who has the ability to dissect things with his hands in feudal Japan;
  • My hero, a shot also released on Akamaru Jump in 2008, is the embryo from which his famous My Hero Academia was born and which tells the story of Jack Midoriya, a guy who works in a hero accessories store and dreams of becoming a hero himself;
  • Shinka Rhapsody is another self-contained chapter that was always published on Akamaru Jump in 2008. This title is like the previous part of the My Hero Academia Embryo, as the story revolves around a society where people began to develop powers. The lack of heroes and the skyrocketing crime rate force the cops to fight for control.
  • Crazy Zoo is his first real manga that was serialized in 2011 and tells the story of Hana Aoi, a girl he finds part-time at a zoo. However, her job is not what it seems as her director, a boy named Shina, is half man and half rabbit due to an evil demon.
  • After the end of the Crazy Zoo, Horikoshi took care of Sensei no Bulge (Barrage), from the roots of the previous OneShot “Uchu Shonen bulge“. The story tells the story of Astro, a boy who looks after his family, and Bulge, an identical prince. Suddenly, Astro will instead take Bulge’s place and solve problems. In this regard, Barrage is under in Italy available from the Star Comics label.
