In mid-June this year it was announced that the manga was written and illustrated by George Morikawa, Hajime no ippo (Fighting spirit), would be published digitally for the first time since July 1. But can a manga published since October 1989 really be transferred to digital media? Apparently not quite. The author posted a post on Twitter explaining one of the problems associated with a double-sided illustration getting lost while reading digitally.
«Considerations and Concerns Regarding the Imminent Electronic Release. For example, if you look at the first photo sent on your phone, the screen before the second will appear first. This is a complete disaster. I don’t remember how many other illustrations did the same thing». Morikawa points out that while reading digitally, the user will first come across a blank page with a small shadow underneath, and then the rest of the illustration. According to his comment, the publisher has not resolved any other similar situations since the introduction of digital publishing.

Morika started publishing the manga in the magazine Weekly Shonen magazine from the publisher Kodansha in October 1989, and since then more than 130 edited volumes have appeared. A 76-part anime adaptation was produced by the studios. Madhouse and issued between October 2000 and March 2002. A second season called Hajime no Ippo: New challenger aired between January and June 2009, followed by a third entitled Hajime no Ippo: Get up issued between October 2013 and March 2014.
Summary of Hajime no Ippo
Makunouchi Ippo was a victim of harassment throughout his life. Ippo runs errands all the time and gets beaten up by his classmates. Ippo has always dreamed of changing, but never had the passion to do it. One day, Ippo is rescued by Takamura Mamoru, who turns out to be a boxer. Ippo passed out from his injuries and was taken to the Kamogawa boxing hall to recover. When he regains consciousness, he is in awe and awe of his new gym environment, even though he lacks the confidence to try something.
Takamura places a photo of Ippo’s classmate on a punching bag and forces him to hit him. Only then does Ippo feel something in him and finally asks Takamura to train him in boxing. Believing Ippo doesn’t have what it takes, Takamura assigns him a task that he thought was impossible and gives him a week’s notice. With a sudden desire to get stronger for him and his working mom, Ippo trains tirelessly to get the job done within the time limit. This is how Ippo’s journey to the top of the boxing world begins.
