A recent episode of the anime transposition of Boruto: Naruto the next generations brought to light the qualities of the sixth Hokage Kakashi Hatake. But why does the Ninja Copier of the Leaf, feared in all ninja countries, not even appear in a single cartoon of the manga?
True to the events of the manga, the animated adaptation of Boruto occasionally tries to come to terms with some Anime original, ie episodes specially created by Studio Pierrot. The last of them focused on the figure of Kakashi Hatake, a question arises: Why is the Sixth Hokage never present in the manga?
This question is a real conundrum from which there is no official answer. However, it’s easy to guess why one of the most popular characters is present in the anime rather than the manga.
Like many other characters, Kakashi is in no way related to the protagonists of the new generation. The sixth Hokage was fundamental to the growth of Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura, but it has nothing to do with Boruto, Sarada, Mitsuki, and the other young ninja of Konoha.
Nonetheless, we saw him lead in the anime as Master Boruto and in episode 211 as Team Ino-Shika-Cho in a revival of the past. Animated transposition, however, must be seen as a work in itself that it can afford meet public expectationswho still considers Kakashi to be one of the most influential characters in the work.
In the manga version, however, there is no room for Kakashi, at least for the moment. It should be remembered that the Sixth Hokage is one Shinobi three generations ago, “old” at the time of Naruto Shippuden. In addition, his story has already been told more than thoroughly and it would make no sense to continue it.
There is one final, very important consideration. As reported by the Instagram page @ilsettimohokage, Mikio Ikemoto explained that behind Kakashi’s absence there is a very specific reason. What did the Boruto illustrator want to suggest?
