Marvel readers will soon be called to the ballot box: Marvel Comics tweeted the return of X-Men Vote, an event where fans can vote for the next mutant to join the X-Men. For the second year in a row, the public can vote for the new member of the X-Men: the first edition enabled the election of Polaris.
The tweet posted by Marvel wasn’t particularly generous with information: the image with the hashtag #XMENVOTE was taken from the caption “Polls open soon“,”The polling stations will open soon“Last year, the voting took place on the Marvel official website from January 27, 2021 to February 2, 2021, and it is likely that the dates for this year’s edition will be similar.
Following last year’s Polaris election, the new X-Men lineup debuted during the Hellfire Gala in July 2021. As for the reprint, the candidates have not yet been announced, but it is likely that like last year the list of suitable mutants consists of 10 possible names.
This X-Men poll comes within weeks of the announcement of Destiny of X’s new Mutant relaunch, the will see the X-Men and the characters who surround them undergo great upheaval. The relaunch begins next spring and must collect the important legacy of Jonathan Hickman’s management.
