A press release reports that the manga has been written and illustrated akihiro ononaka, Rushing about magical girls (Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete), will have an anime adaptation. Production details and release date will be announced shortly.

Rushing about magical girls

Ononaka started publishing the manga through the magazine Manga Life Story from the publisher takeshobo in January 2019, where it is still in print. In addition, Ononaka also wrote Kumika no Mikaku (The many flavors of kumika) between August 2015 and July 2018, a life story manga about an alien who discovers the myriad dishes of terrestrial food.

Synopsis for Gushing Over Magical Girls

Hiiragi Utena has always admired magical girls and dreamed of becoming a cool hero fighting evil. One night, when a doll-like figure who claims to have magical powers approaches her, she trembles with excitement. But her colorful dream is quickly dashed by an ironic turn of events as she turns into a villain.

Disinterested in connecting with the forces of evil, she tries to quit when a group of magical girls show up and declare war on her. A fight ensues, and Hiiragi soon discovers that he enjoys inflicting pain on others while revealing his true nature. Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete follows Hiiragi in his new life as leader of villains, battling magical girls and unleashing his new sadistic nature.
