Let’s face it, fillers are very often forgotten episodes. In particular, some very long-running animes with weekly and intermittent releases have used this strategy to buy time. Naruto and Bleach are some of the most famous emblems this strategy and which has led to heavy criticism from fans.
Suffice it to say that Naruto: Shippuden has over 200 fillers and fully skippable episodes for you to enjoy the story. But the anime of the blonde ninja isn’t the one with the most filler episodes at all. Let’s analyze the different rankings to understand them this is the anime with the most fillers in absolute terms and percentages.
The anime with the most fillers is Detective Conan, with 440 fill sequences out of 1016 episodes broadcast to date. An impressive number that doubles that of Naruto: Shippuden, who, however, enjoys half of the episodes. But the blonde ninja has another record: Naruto is the anime with the longest pen sequence ever. Episodes 136-219, 83 in total, were actually all created specifically for the anime and don’t add anything to the plot.
And instead in percent? This time we’re moving to a completely different product with Trigun. With its 26 episodes, Trigun Anime is pretty much anything filler. In fact, it has 17 filler episodes, 65% of the total. Closely followed by Black Butler (63%), Hayate the Combat Butler (60%) and To-Love Ru (55%).
By the way, other titles known for having a lot of fillers are Bleach, Fairy Tail, Ranma 1/2, and ONE PIECE, which are on the list of the most bulky animes of all time.
