The anime adaptation of Vinland Saga was recently renewed for a second season, which is expected to be released sometime in 2022. Since it is an extremely popular anime, many fans assumed that season 2 would also consist of two courses, and director Shuhei Yabuta recently spoke about it.

"The events of the anime's second season play an important role in the story of the Vinland saga"said Yabuta,"so I expect to get a fair number of episodes in order to be able to accurately implement the emotions of its protagonists"When you consider that the manga's second story arc has practically the same longevity as the first, It goes without saying that the director wants to work with 24 episodes available, and therefore with a double course.

The first season of the Vinland Saga anime has adapted 54 chapters of the manga, contained in the first 8 volumes. The second narrative arc, called "Slave Arc", consists of another 45 chapters and ends in volume 14, shortly before the expedition to the east. Makoto Yukimura's work currently comprises 24 volumes, a twenty-fifth is in publication and will be finalized within three years.
