One of the best up and coming mangaka is Tatsuki Fujimoto who is best known for chainsaw man. By the end of the year, the work will receive the animated adaptation of Studio MAPPA, which the author will certainly be proud of. Also, the release date of Chainsaw Man Part 2 has been announced these days.
But Tatsuki Fujimoto isn’t just Chainsaw Man: he actually published two one-shot stories that were hugely successful in Japan. The first, titled Look Back, is an intimate and moving story that follows the story of a girl doing mangaka. Instead, the author’s second successful one-shot follows Goodbye Eripublished in a magazine last April, starring a boy determined to use his smartphone to film the final months of his critically ill mother’s life.
Goodbye’s Tankobon, Eri will be arriving in Japan soon and was already online his cover shown. As we can see in @tweetgaak_frThe cover, designed by Fujimoto, shows a smartphone held by two hands filming Eri’s face in the foreground. Interestingly, the smartphone background looks like a hospital wall with tiles, while in reality the girl is in the middle of a sand expanse at sunset.
Tatsuki Fujimoto will have studied this cover in depth, which seems to give us a big impact. The young mangaka with Look back received the compliments of many colleagues, including Inio Asanoand after Eri also hit the mark with Goodbye, Eri doesn’t seem to want to stop for any reason: the author of Chainsaw Man will indeed be returning with a new one-shot co-written with Toda Ottowhich will debut in Japan on July 4th.
