Every hero has his dark counterpart is that of Optimus Prime, the leader of the glorious Autobots, is Nemesis Prime. Within the franchise, this character came about in different ways and with the advent of The Kingdom, the final series in the animated trilogy. Transformers: War for Cybertron, we have experienced a new “birth”.

Over the course of the six episodes of The Kingdom, the Autobots and Decepticons managed to return to Cybertron, but once on their home planet they were forced to face the machinations of Unicron, an evil robot that devours worlds. While Megatron confronts Galvatron, an alternate version of himself transformed by Unicron’s power, Optimus Prime also had to face his nemesis.
Nemesis Prime is a dark version of the Autobot leader who retains all of his powers and personality while maintaining a decidedly darker design. When it comes into play, it reveals that it is from an alternate timeline where Unicron turned Optimus into his slave, just like he did with Megatron / Galvatron.
