The official site of the anime adaptation of the light novels by The Rise of the Shield Hero (Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari) confirmed that the second season is planned for its television debut in Japan April 6th. Western distribution is handled via the platform crispy roll.

This second season of The Rising of the Shield Hero was scheduled to debut in the Fall 2021 (October-December) season, but has been pushed back to the Spring 2022 (April-June) season for “a number of reasons”. Aneko Yusagi began publishing the novel The Rising of the Shield Hero (Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari) on the independent service Shousetsuka ni Narou By doing 2012 and graduated in 2015. Kadokawa began publishing in print Illustrations by Minami Seira in August from 2013.

The work inspired a Anime adaptation in 25 episodes produced by Cinema citrus studiosLed by Takao subscription and screenplays written by Keigo Koyonagi and released in January 2019. In the cast of voice actors we find Kaito Ishikawa like Naofumi Iwatani, Asami Seto like raffalia, Rina Hidaka as Filo, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Ren Amaki, Makoto Takahashi as Motoyasu Kitamura, Yoshitaka Yamaya as Itsuki Kawasumi, Maaya Uchida as Melty, and Kikuno Inoue as Mirelia.

In production, on the other hand, we have staff Masato Jinbo (Syomin Sample, Restaurant to Another World), in charge of directing the anime at Kinema Citrus Studios. Keigo Koyanagi (The Pet Girl of Sakurasou, Crafted in the AbyssHanasaku Iroha) is responsible for writing and supervising the scripts.

Masahiro Suwa (Hitsugi no Chaika, Scorching Ping Pong Girls) is responsible for character design and animation direction in collaboration with Kota Sera. Kevin Penkin (Made in Abyss, Kami no Tou) is in charge of composing the soundtrack.

The group MADKID returns from season one to cover the opening theme with the single titled “Return‘, while also the singer Chiai Fujikawa returns from the first season to cover the closing theme with the single titled “Yuzurenai“.
