The Promised Neverland Manga is growing at an extraordinary pace, with numbers that finally rival those of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and The Attack of the Giants. Jujutsu Kaisen remains untouchable at the moment, but considering that Kaiu Shirai and Posuka Demizu’s manga ended a year ago, we’re still talking about incredible numbers.
According to the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, The Promised Neverland has 32 million copies in circulation 6 million copies were sent from January to April 2021. The growth is likely due to the poor response on season two of the anime adaptation, which apparently convinced several fans to turn to its paper counterpart.
The Promised Neverland had 16 million copies in circulation in September 2019, 21 million in June 2020 and 26 million last December. An average of around 650,000 copies were sent per month. In 2021, the average rose to 1.5 million copies sent monthlyand thus recorded a growth of over 120%.
In short, despite the season two flop, it seems that the work still grew in popularity in the end, and who knows, the numbers won’t keep growing any further in the future.
