Summary of the Shaman King
There is a battle brewing in Tokyo: the Battle of the Shamans, a five-hundred-year competition that pits shamans (those who can command spirits) against one another. The one who is victorious in this tournament is recognized as the “Shaman King” and can contact and control the Great Spirit, allowing him to reform the world at his will through his immense power. During a night walk, Manta Oyamada meets his companion, the easy-going Yoh Asakura, who invites him to stargaze with some other friends, who turn out to be the spirits of the local graveyard, to Manta’s horror. However, it is also surprising that manta can see them.
