In the series I Am Batman, Jace Fox, son of Lucius Fox, took on the role of the Dark Knight. So it’s a black Batman who has so far fought crime with a helmet that completely covers his face. In the new installment of the series Jace Fox is finally ready to show off as a black hero.

Originally, the new Batman 2020 was presented in Future State. Subsequently, Jace Fox experienced a rapid surge in popularity until he exploded in Fear State last year. In I Am Batman #5 available in US Comics, Lucius Fox discovers the identity of the new Batman. told him to stop wearing the part of the mask that covered his jaw, and no longer sees himself as an inferior Batman.

Some people have said I’m writing Black Batman, meant as a compliment‘ says screenwriter John Ridley, who did I’m Batman #5 along with artists Christian Duce, Juan Ferreyra, Laura Braga and Rex Lokus. “But it’s not about the black Batman, it’s about Jace Fox as Batman who is black. This is a family that struggles with money and representation, and you’ll see a lot more of that as the story progresses, with Jace and his family moving to New York in I Am Batman.“.

With I Am Batman #6, Jace will indeed move to New York, bringing with him a Dark Knight to protect the Big Apple. The release of I Am Batman #6 in the US is scheduled for February 8, 2022. Staying on topic, a Batman Forever fan re-edited the Batman trailer by including Jim Carrey’s Riddler.
