Ao no Orchestra Synopsis

Hajime Aono lived for the sound of his violin. Ever since he was little, he admired his father, a world-renowned violinist who inspired him to learn the instrument. But after his parents' bitter divorce, Aono vows never to play again and sets off for high school with no direction or perspective.

During a gym class, the unsportsmanlike Aono is hit in the face by a ball and ends up in the infirmary. There he meets the cheeky Ritsuko Akine, who starts playing the violin in the room because she thinks she is alone. However, following a past incident, rumors spread that Akine is a bully, which has isolated her from her peers, a fact unknown to Aono.

Akine dreams of attending a school with an orchestra, but his playing and lack of musical knowledge angers Aono greatly. Seeing this as a perfect opportunity for the two to become friends, his teacher suggests that Aono teach Akine how to play the violin, which Aono vehemently refuses. However, as they spend more time together, they soon learn to understand and help each other, and Aono may finally discover the lost passion and melody in her life.
